PIMPAC Activities
Each year PIMPAC will undertake several activities around four broad categories: training, learning exchanges, partnership building/information sharing and youth engagement.
PIMPAC training activities focus on building capacity for managers, based on regional needs. Some topics PIMPAC has conducted training on include:
management planning
biological monitoring
socioeconomic monitoring
enforcement and compliance and
climate change adaptation
PIMPAC activities are driven by the PIMPAC 2023-2027 Strategic Action Plan.
For more information about each of these activities, including supporting materials and documents, see the links below.
Several priority MPA training topics have been ongoing priorities for PIMPAC, as identified by our partners, communities and MPA managers. These include MPA management planning, enforcement, monitoring, outreach & education, and overall MPA administration.
PIMPAC has been working to build a series of training modules that address the essential components of an effective MPA (e.g., planning, community outreach and participation, monitoring, enforcement, etc). The PIMPAC membership continues to train communities and regional staff in these areas, and update materials as appropriate. Additionally, PIMPAC is working on improving.
